Glitchlab

iOS App.

TRY THIS:

• Find a photo on your computer and change the extension from .jpg to .txt
  
• Open that file with a text editor and mess it up (delete lines, type letters and numbers in randomly, Etc.)
  
• Save the document and change the extension back to .jpg

When you open the image it will be different. There will be random colors, glitches and overall it will just look weird. This is how Glitchlab was born.

While glitching pictures in the Mountain Machine Games office, someone suggested, “why don’t we make an app that does this?”  So we did.

Along with basic image glitching, there were other features added to make the app more versatile. Layers, masks, shapes, effects (pixelate, blur, “bitcrushing”) Most of the time the images turned into a mess but every once and a while Glitchlab created some magic.
